The problem is that OEM brands like Dell, HP, etc. always want new gear to sell their products, and are keen to jump on th latest hardware to do so. It's so much like that that AMD had to rebrand its whole HD 7000 series GPUs to HD 8000, just for OEM to sell new PCs.

And of course, newer hardware is not only more powerful, but the price is kept constant or even higher. That's why the second hand market would be your only choice.

That said, the two computers that boffer has posted would be capable of running any game from this gen at 1080p.

That second one is more than good enough for me, then.
