You sure about that? Streams generate revenue, popular characters attract viewers. You don't need to sell anything nowadays to make lots of money of other people's IPs.

It's probably not that Nintendo is taking it down because of directing people away from their Mario products, it's more that letting it slide sets a precedent to erode the copyright. Anyway if you keep it to yourself nothing happens, once you start promoting it online, Nintendo has to do something about it.

Reason why Nintendo were so problematic with the let`s play on youtube, that wasn`t fine.
