Square can do amazing things when they stick to their strengths instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. Bravely Default is another great example.

But I am sure the next final fantasy will be a mix of k-pop, wii-fit and FPS, with edges, leather and points going out of every place.

Just hoping they don't manage to break 7, because the hype is real.

While I think FF7 Remake will be great, I think the big concern will be the episodic nature of the remake. Once the story and game opens up after Midgar, how will Square Enix divide it up, while staying true to the intentions of the original game? I haven't gotten past Midgar yet, but I heard the game opens up to show how big the world is post-Midgar.

Anyway, great news for Octopath Traveler. I think this shows that third party games can succeed on Switch if developers put their mind and effort into it. Its not gonna be a technical marvel like say FF7 Remake or Red Dead Redepmtion 2, but you can create incredible games on Switch that can be complementary of the hardware. Astral Chain (developed by Platinum Games) is another example. Heck, even Dragon Quest XI S is a great example of effort and commitment to a port from a PS4 game. I know most developers will likely not care for developing new experiences on Switch, but games like Octopath Traveler and Astral Chain show that great third party games can be developed for Switch and succeed.
