The Royal disc should result in the same game file as a patched P5 vanilla, yeah. If they planned to make a DLC upgrade, someone would have to make notes of all the individual new files placement. Just thinking about how that may be more time consuming for some games than I realized.

Giving you the digital version of P5R instead of patching P5, if you own that game, would seem like a solution though.

Well I didn't say it would be easy, but that it would be feasible. And anyway doesn't really justify the full price for me =]
