Right, I am creating a hypothetical scenario of prices. My feeling is PS5 and Series X need to be really expensive for Series S to thrive at $299.

Being $100 cheaper would already be enough for the hypothetical series s to be viable. And only switch is 9th gen. Ps5 and xsx will kickstart the 10th gen.
