That's is not correct, gamers are gamers, period, its 2020 no one is scared of PCs anymore they've become much easier to build. I was on PC until 2006 when I emigrated for work purposes, at the end of this year I'll permanently return home now that I finished paying my house. Just saving for a car.

Ill have a choice as a gamer, build a powerful PC which can replace my MacBook so basically that would cost me nothing as the MacBook is worth a lot of money.

Or buy a PS5 or series X depending on design, power, launch games. Price, With the advantage I already have a pro controller that works on PC.

I'd love a GT7, horizon 2, spiderman 2 etc, but on PC I could play enhanced games from several generations + emulators to improve my switch/wiiU graphics. And several games at very cheap prices. And free online.

Also console games take many years to drop in price back in Portugal, not like here in the UK where I can get a game 50% off after only 6 months. Back in Portugal I've seen PS4 games from 5 years ago still at 70euros (around 80dollars), GTA5 as an example.

The new consoles will be 500 + 130 for a couple games + 150 for a proper controller if my pro controller is not compatible + 50 for online = 830 dollars

PC parts will be better, cheaper and more power efficient come January, I could build a monster gaming PC for 830 dollars which would save me money long term on games and free online and I could go back and play older games like Mass effect trilogy in very high quality graphics.

The biggest deciding factor will be fan noise, this generation I went through 4 PS4s, the launch one was loud, then the destiny model was acceptable, then I got the pro was super loud, then I finally got the 3rd revision with Spiderman, its acceptable.

The xbox X is wonderfully silent, but I doubt the next gen consoles will have the budget for that cooling. On consoles you are stuck to whatever cooling they give you. Most people didn't complain on ps4 so I'm sure they will cheap out on that. I usually do not mind if the fan can not be heard over the headphones.

On PC I get to choose the cooling, thats a huge advantage.

Sony bringing exclusives to the PC is just one more reason to abandon consoles.

Sorry, “gamers are gamers” doesn’t fly. Because that assumes people are the same and don’t have unique preferences. Ever consider millions don’t want to build a PC? That couch gaming is more social or that playing on your living room tv is preferable then being 2 feet away from your Pc monitor? That consoles are always going to be cheaper and more convenient?

Just a few examples of why one wouldn’t touch the other, and I’m sure there’s plenty examples that go for Pc gamers

You must have not read my comments, I said consoles will be just PCs, they are just pre built. You can play PC on the couch, on your TV, with the same cable, with the same controller. Also you can play consoles on a PC monitor, on a desk, on a chair.

You cant read? I said PC gaming is cheaper than console gaming, you spend 500dollars just to play online during 10 years. PC gamers pay 0 dollars, also if you buy 50 games, it will cost you an average 1000 dollars more on consoles, so you spend an average 1500 dollars on a console.

The difference between PC and consoles have been shortening for years now.

Slowly console gamers are realizing the advantage of PCs

1 - Easy to upgrade, don't have to buy the whole machine (example ps4 to ps4 pro)

2 - You can do a lot more with a PC

3 - You get a lot more games on PC

4 - Emulators

5 - Much cheaper games

6 - Free online

7 - Choice of a controller

8 - Choice of either graphics or framerate

9 - No need for game patches, all games become 'patched' once you buy a better graphics card

10 - A bigger range of games, example strategy and management

PS - I do not have a PC as I'm travelling for work, or else I'd gone PC years ago, with that said I love my consoles too, as long as they have plenty exclusives, put those exclusives on PC such as Horizon, then consoles become less and less necessary. I plan to have a desk with a monitor, and 2 cables, 1 going to the monitor, one going to the projector, so I can just switch between 26inch monitor, or 120 inch projector with just a click. I will use the same controller, nacon revolution unlimited on ps4 and projector, its easy to switch, basically just put the usb receptor on ps4 or PC that's all, no other options to change.

As much as I love to play on the couch, I realized recently when playing N64 on my laptop, that I get more alert when sitting down at a desk, the couch gets me more lazy and sleepy. So its good to have the choice.
