https://www.pcgamer.com/rimworld-is-getting-an-add-on-for-its-royalty-dlc/
RimWorld's Royalty DLC and 1.1 update snuck up on us last week, with Ludeon Studios typically only updating players once things are finished cooking. It looks like that's changing, however, with players getting a rough idea of what's to come courtesy of a blog post.
Fallen London is getting a new map to celebrate its 10th anniversary
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallen-london-is-getting-a-new-map-to-celebrate-its-10th-anniversary/
Fallen London, Failbetter's resilient browser game, hit its tenth anniversary recently, so the developer is giving it a lick of paint and sprucing it up for this brave new decade. As of this week, visitors to the subterranean metropolis will have a fancy new map to gaze at.

Now that Riot has finally pulled back the curtain on Valorant, the 5v5 CS:GO-meets-Overwatch shooter formerly known as Project A, the details are starting to flow. We've got information on the game's characters, we've got a closer look at the netcode and anti-cheat systems that keep it all running, we've got a hands-on preview that you should probably spend some time with, and now we've got the lowdown on what sort of PC you'll need if you want to play.
Halo: Combat Evolved teaser may hint at an imminent Steam release
https://www.pcgamer.com/halo-combat-evolved-teaser-may-hint-at-an-imminent-steam-release/
The Halo: Combat Evolved portion of the five-game Halo: The Master Chief Collection—which comes in the form of 2011's 'Anniversary' remake—recently concluded a couple weeks of beta testing, and going by the February wrap-up at the Halo Waypoint website, it was a very productive event. A number of outstanding issues were resolved, an updated crouch/movement system was added because the legacy system "wasn't a good experience on PC," and players seemed very happy with the experience.
In Half-Life: Alyx, you can protect yourself from barnacles by wearing a hard hat
https://www.pcgamer.com/in-half-life-alyx-you-can-protect-yourself-from-barnacles-by-wearing-a-hard-hat/
We got a nice look at some new Half-Life: Alyx gameplay videos today, showing combat, puzzles, gravity gloves, upgradable guns, and more from the upcoming VR-only Half-Life 2 prequel. And at one point in the first video, a fun bit of interaction occurs: Alyx uses her gravity gloves to snatch a yellow hard hat from a nearby crate and plop it onto her head. Team Fortress 2's engineer would no doubt be proud.
But it's not just whimsy—it looks like that hard hat can literally save your neck. IGN posted a video of some hands-on Half-Life: Alyx gameplay today too, and in it we see a barnacle attempt to strangle Alyx as she wanders into its dangling tongue.
League of Legends' maligned client is getting a revamp
https://www.pcgamer.com/league-of-legends-maligned-client-is-getting-a-revamp/
To put it mildly, people don't seem to like the League of Legends client. So it's welcome news that Riot Games has announced a 'Client Cleanup Campaign', which is just a slightly over-formal way of saying that they're going to fix it.
>> Could that thread, and maybe others, have something to do with the next article?
League of Legends forums are closing next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/league-of-legends-forums-are-closing-next-week/
A "board" is another name for an internet forum, originating (as far as I know) in the long-ago days of online "bulletin board systems," which were commonly referred to as boards. It's not a term that gets much usage these days, and it will fade a little more later this month when Riot closes the League of Legends Boards.
Death Stranding and Control lead the 2020 BAFTA nominations

With the 2020 BAFTA Game Awards kicking off next month, the list of nominations has been announced, with games duking it out across 15 categories. A lot of these games appeared in similar lists last year, so there aren't too many surprises. You'll see a lot of Control, Death Stranding and Disco Elysium.
You are the bomb in this explosive free platform game

In inventive puzzle-platformer Bombastic, you tend to explode at the slightest prompt. That's because you're the bomb. Sorry, you're a bomb, and exploding is kind of your whole deal.
The GDC Relief Fund is raising money for indies affected by the postponement
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-gdc-relief-fund-is-raising-money-for-indies-affected-by-the-postponement/
GDC was postponed last week after companies started to pull out due to concerns about the coronavirus, which unfortunately left a lot of developers in a jam. GDC passes are being refunded, but there are a great many other costs involved in going to the event, as well as the time and effort spent on preparing demos and presentations.
To alleviate the burden, Wings Interactive has teamed up with several companies to open the GDC Relief Fund. Developers can apply through the website, with recipients being picked based on how much the postponement is estimated to affect them financially.
Europa Universalis 4 pits emperors against revolutionaries in its next DLC
https://www.pcgamer.com/europa-universalis-4-pits-emperors-against-revolutionaries-in-its-next-dlc/
Europa Universalis 4 is getting another expansion, bringing the number up to daunting 13. I'm two expansions behind, but I'm only human, not some grand strategy machine. The technology just isn't there yet. The Emperor expansion promises to spice things up for the Holy Roman Empire, Papal State and other Catholic nations, and as always it will be accompanied by a chunky free patch.
Please excuse my bad English.
