The excuse is profit in the form of something extra with a product,you are the one that can not prove this takes away from the game and this game in general is not a lazy made game so calling this greed is going way over the top.

MTX are bullshit. AAA devs can eat shit with MTX. All MTX are shit and there are zero excuses for them in any way shape or form no matter how someone tries to spin it. End of.  Imagine years down the line buying the game and the promotion ended a long time ago. You can't get that extra content. Hell, not even years. Just a couple months after release..unless you pay eBay scalper prices. People who support MTX are the reason EA thinks "surprise mechanics" are just fine and other AAA publishers all the same.
