Could honestly go either way. A recent job posting wanted a director to helm the game from start to finish, and listed the game as AAA. This implies a 3 year development period.

It could very well be the first exclusive only on next gen hardware. Or it could be like Xbox X with a Switch version of Hellblade (an example of scaling down). Either option has its merits.

How can that be when PS5 will have exclusives on day 1 but MS say their games will be cross-gen for the first 1-2 years?

At any rate, Hellblade 2 is the one thing tempting me to get a Series X so far, as I loved the hell out of the first game. I was thinking about getting a cheap Xbone after this gen ends to play games that never made it over to Switch like RE7 or Monster Hunter World, but considering the patterns we've seen on Switch, it wouldn't surprise me if those games eventually come to Switch 2. Heck, maybe even Hellblade 2 will.

Oh I meant HB2 might come out after the cross gen phase fizzles out on Xbox. Or it’ll be one of the last ones. Hard to tell this early.

And I’m 99% sure Hellblade 2 will stay on Xbox/PC. The first coming to switch was just MS milking its sales on competitors due to the game being multi platform before the buyout. The sequel is made completely under MS ownership.
