Exactly, it doesnt matter what me or any other user want on this site. once internet speeds etc get to a point where the isnt much difference between streaming and playing locally the younger gen will adopt it. MS is putting themselves in a good position for the future as they clearly see the bigger picture of where the market is going to go. Now just like with Netflix and other streaming options its very much possible that users will still be able to buy their games without using streaming (I hope) just like users can still buy movies on blueray and music on cd's if they wish. But just like them two formats they wont be the most popular in the future and it will mostly be the older generation like myself that will still do that, and just like people say "Why would anyone buy a cd or dvd etc when u can just pay a sub and listen or watch whatever you want whenever you want on as many devices as you want" the same will hold true for gaming the younger gen will be looking at us like we dinosaurs. |
Second time this year a new blu-ray release (Frozen 2) is out of stock at Amazon. I guess it's the norm now, not even a date, we'll email when it becomes available. Perhaps the virus is affecting production, dunno. I'm also waiting for Amazon to put The Expanse Season 4 on blu-ray, do not want to watch it from a stream.
It's already getting harder to find physical copies of lesser known games while many smaller games don't even get physical releases anymore. We'll probably get to a point where a game releases on streaming services first, then a week later digital to buy and some time after the physical release might become available or not. Play it first with EA streaming access etc.
