https://www.pcgamer.com/sci-fi-mmo-population-zero-is-headed-to-steam-in-may/
Population Zero, the story-driven sci-fi MMO that began closed beta testing last year, will soon be open to everyone. Developer Enplex Games announced today that the game will debut on Steam Early Access on May 5, and also revealed a few changes that will be in place when it happens.

Help the devil get his mojo back in the monstrous roguelike Rogue Lords
https://www.pcgamer.com/help-the-devil-get-his-mojo-back-in-the-monstrous-roguelike-rogue-lords/
It's fair to say that in most works of fiction, the devil is portrayed as the bad guy. And in the upcoming roguelike Rogue Lords, he will still be the bad guy—but he will also be you.
Rogue Lords, which is being developed by Cyanide and Leikir Studio, is set in 17th-century New England, "where mortals and diabolical entities walk side by side." And the devil, having suffered a recent ass-kicking, is putting together a team, including Bloody Mary, Dracula, the White Lady, and Baron Samedi, to help him get his mojo back.

Control a giant laser in action-strategy defense game Taur
https://www.pcgamer.com/control-a-giant-laser-in-action-strategy-defense-game-taur/
I hope a game that's a blend of shoot-em-up and wave survival and tower defense sounds good to you, because that is what I’ve got here. In Taur, you control a single giant gun emplacement that you surround with automated defenses. Then, waves of enemies come. Your cannon is powerful, but can't be everywhere at once, so you optimally attack the enemy as they come, obliterating swathes of lesser foes with a huge laser as your defenses hold off the rest. It's one of those games that sounds normal but then looks downright thrilling in motion.

How Obsidian ended up making a survival game even though it’s a studio known for RPGs is an interesting story in and of itself. (No, it’s not a licensed Honey I Shrunk The Kids game, we asked.) Grounded will be released into Early Access this year and hopes for a full release sometime in 2021. You can find it on the Grounded Steam page.

Kerbal Space Program 2 trailer shows off Nuclear Propulsion, Metallic Hydrogen, Torchships
https://www.pcgamer.com/kerbal-space-program-2-trailer-shows-off-nuclear-propulsion-metallic-hydrogen-torchships/
Kerbal Space Program 2 may have been delayed, but that hasn't slowed down development or the dreams of a billion tiny green things. A new mini-documentary slash trailer from the new studio Private Division talks about the near-future technologies that have been included in the massive sequel to everyone’s favorite rocket explosion simulator. Kerbal Space Program 2 is pretty highly anticipated around here, given that the first game was long considered one of the best games on PC.

Activision takes legal action against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale Reddit leaker

Activision has not confirmed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be getting a battle royale mode, but there have been plenty of hints and leaks. One, an image of people with guns standing on top of vehicles beneath the words Call of Duty: Warzone, has got Activision particularly riled up—to the point where they've subpoenaed Reddit for details of the user responsible for posting it, Torrentfreak reports.

Devotion, the Taiwanese game removed from Steam, is being preserved by Harvard
https://www.pcgamer.com/devotion-the-taiwanese-game-removed-from-steam-is-being-preserved-by-harvard/
Devotion is a horror game by Taiwanese developers Red Candle, which they removed from Steam shortly after release due to controversy over its inclusion of art mocking Chinese president Xi Jinping. Though Devotion is no longer available for sale, it is being preserved thanks to Harvard University. The Harvard-Yenching Library, which houses the university's East Asian collections, has added both Devotion and Red Candle's previous horror game Detention (which is still available on Steam) to their collection.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem hotfix brings greater stability and balance tweaks
https://www.pcgamer.com/wolcen-lords-of-mayhem-hotfix-brings-greater-stability-and-balance-tweaks/
Action-RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem had a rocky launch with malfunctioning multiplayer servers, but developer Wolcen Studio is moving forward. The Wolcen 1.0.4.0 hotfix is here, addressing both server issues and balance concerns. Overpowered abilities like Bane of Tyranny and Secure Parry have been fixed, as have broken nodes Blistering Embrace and Shattering Strike. The Aspects of Apocalypse have also gotten a pretty extensive overhaul, with damage, costs, and length receiving big tweaks to one effect: Aspects now focus on a much larger short-term boost to damage at a higher cost, to make them feel more powerful. The rest of the tweaks and fixes generally focus on stability, bugs, and server overhauls. You can read the full patch notes on both the Wolcen website and Steam.

Feeling nostalgic for the alma mater? Want to stroll across the quad once more, see some old friends? Well, I can’t in any way help you with that but I can help you with The Division 2, which is returning to last summer’s special Kenly College event for a few weeks.

Wild siege weapon sandbox Besiege is 50% off for launch, so here are some GIFs
https://www.pcgamer.com/wild-siege-weapon-sandbox-besiege-is-50-off-for-launch-so-here-are-some-gifs/
After a few years in Early Access, siege weapon playground Besiege released this week to little fanfare. Which is inappropriate because it is in theory, at least, about the age of fanfares. That is wrong and bad to me, so we're going to celebrate one of the most hilarious games of the last few years, a physics sandbox that encourages players to create absolutely crazy engines of war and set them loose on a bunch of campaign levels and/or each other. At its launch, gifs of Besiege in action were a staple on Twitter and Reddit, so I'd like to show off some of my favorites from a casual perusal of some out there.

Spawn is coming to Mortal Kombat 11 in March
https://www.pcgamer.com/spawn-is-coming-to-mortal-kombat-11-on-march-8/
Spawn's creator Todd McFarlane recently tweeted out some photos of a new "Mortal Kombat Spawn" action figure showing the grimdark superhero holding a sword, standing on top of a decapitated enemy, and wearing a very chunky spiked booty on one leg. I haven't read a Spawn comic since 1995, so I have no idea if this is what he looks like now or if it's a significant redesign.

CD Projekt has become Europe's second-biggest videogame company
https://www.pcgamer.com/cd-projekt-have-become-europes-second-biggest-videogame-company/
Over the last few months Polish company CD Projekt have had their market value go from $6.8 billion to over $8 billion, thanks to the popular Netflix series boosting sales of The Witcher games by as much as 554%, as well as the release of a Switch port of The Witcher 3 (which now has save game integration with Steam and GOG copies, by the way). Anticipation for Cyberpunk 2077 obviously remains strong as well.

Players are preventing fall damage in Red Dead Redemption 2 by puking
https://www.pcgamer.com/players-are-preventing-fall-damage-in-red-dead-redemption-2-by-puking/
You read that correctly. Crafty players in Red Dead Redemption 2 have figured out a way of reducing fall damage by making themselves sick. It's called "vomit-roping" and is just as grim as you'd expect.
VG247 recently reported on the phenomenon, in which you intentionally ingest specific plants with the sole purpose of puking your ring up. There's a very scientific breakdown of why inhaling vast amounts of bullrush will make you do a puke over on Reddit.

Streets of Rage 4 gets a new character and four-player co-op
https://www.pcgamer.com/streets-of-rage-4-gets-a-new-character-and-four-player-co-op/
Dotemu recently revealed a brand new fighter joining the brawlers of Streets of Rage 4. Dubbed your "cybernetic brother in arms," Floyd Iraia is apparently going to "smash your heart this Spring." He has metal arms and appears to have access to some sort of massive laser blast.
