I don't know how many times I have to repeat myself. Mass manufacturing works on two principles, and two principles only:

1. The more you order, the cheaper it gets

2. The earlier you order, the cheaper it gets.

If anyone thinks that Sony is ordering parts NOW and has price problems NOW really has a serious problem in understanding how things work in the industry. Neither Sony nor Microsoft give a shit about prices they'd currently would have to pay. All the stuff they need has been ordered months, if not years BEFORE NOW. Reason? See 2. Those deals have been sealed.

Maybe Sony is scrambling to change specs due to MS being transparent about the Series X specs. I mean, we knew since last E3 that Series X would target 12 teraflops
