Sony cancelling PAX East 2020 attendance due to coronavirus concerns

That said I do admire the level of loyalty it takes to be ok with this. I know on some level fans are hungry for the slightest bit of official news. 

PS5 wasn't going to be at PAX so any news you think fans want wasn't going to happen.

And GDC isn't for consumers. Any official news would take place at a showing elsewhere.

Thinking that Sony is losing the hype train for next gen by dropping out of an event for current gen news, and for developers, requires some incredible mental gymnastics on your part.

You do realise that next gen consoles showing up at TGS is non-news? 

It doesn't mean that is when PS5 news is coming. It's ridiculous that you even consider such a late reveal as an actual possibility.

I still see it as a snub to fans. Just like everything else they aren’t going to this year. GDC tends to have some news that lights up the forums regarding next gen, especially on a launch year. Ignoring that requires some mental gymnastics as well. Once again I admire the sheer loyalty it takes to support Sony on what I genuinely believe to be a string of snubs.
