@Hynad, how can you call out Ocarina of Time for its framerate and saying things like "N64 was chewing more than it could"... when FF VII on PS struggled to keep 20 FPS on battles? Are you serious? xD

It's hilarious the arguments some of you people choose to defened Final Fantasy VII. Instead of reminding people what that game did well (and there sure are many things it did great), you keep throwing bullshit like a framerate war were FF VII at best TIES with OoT and at worse LOSES, try to downplay OoT gameplay because "it was improved by future games" and is not as refined as modern action adventure games when that can be said for almost every 5th gen game including FF VII... among other dumb stuff of similar caliber.

Seriously, you are not doing FF VII any favour...

If I was comparing both. I’d say you’d have a case. But since I was only talking about OoT, and mentioning its flaws, I don’t know what you’re on about.

Mentioning a game’s flaws in no fucking way means I am discounting another game’s flaws, or that same flaws don’t apply to it. In no way am I am defending FF VII by bringing up that OoT did have flaws. That’s a stupid equivalency you’re making, and are putting words in my mouth. Simply let me use my own, thank you.

Your lot keeps on calling the game perfect. I am saying I don’t think it is. That even back then, in 1998, I didn’t think it was perfect, despite its great atmosphere and the sense of wonder that came with the exploration aspects of it.
Arguably flawless are games like Zelda LTTP, Super Mario World and Super Metroid.

OoT, while a great achievement for being one of the first games of its type at the time, wasn’t flawless. Its flaw were simply overlooked exactly because, yes, it was one of the first game of its type at the time.
