This. If I was him, I would have been gone the Story and Music route. Especially on how the story remains relevantly good in the JRPG scene, and how it sort of predicted the current global political scene with Business men leading empires and ecological dangers caused by men (global warming, pollution, etc.). The graphics aspect, isn't a battle FFVII will win over OoT.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... but the prerendered backgrounds are literally the only aspect of FF7 that are better that OOT's visuals on a technical level.  And even that I'd say is debatable because it creates a sort of weird "cartoon characters in the real world" aesthetic.
