That's all shallow, insincere, box-ticking and pandering. Liberals don't care about gays, transgender people, or anything other than power. Same with Conservatives, really. They shamelessly hop on trends all the time. It's a marketing ploy. Anything to appear cool and virtuous.
Look at the Gillette ad as an example. If they made that ten years ago, then they would've been shining a light on something that they believed was an issue. Instead, they did it when everyone else was doing it.
Also, there's usually a reason for boycotts. Ever think that it has something to do with people being insulted or excluded?
