I'd recommend PC as a platform the are a lot more viable components to build a good PC that can run most modern games on high plus you don't need to build it in one go just get the parts over a period of time.

I already have a gaming pc, I just don’t use it much.  Not much of a fan of the mouse and keyboard interface.
