While that is definetly an option (it's common bussiness exchange)... I see problems with that as well. Bayonetta 3 has been in developement for almost three years now. It seems unlikely for this exchange to have taken place a short time ago or at the beginning of Bayo 3 developement. Why would they start now the Kickstarter if the deal was made at the beginning or during the Bayo 3 developement? They could have done this years ago. And if this deal is recent, it doesn't make sense because as I said, Bayo 3 has been in development for years. It is clear that the money was already there from the beginning. Also, the Tencent money injection would in theory allow them to not need a Kickstarter to begin with.

I don't know. I gues everything is possible, but I see so much things wrong with this rumor that I don't think its real. But hey, we'll know in the next hours xD

Yes, the timeline doesn't work here. It can be made to fit if we assume that Nintendo was so satisfied with the performance of Astral Chain that they've greenlit a sequel already. We know that AC shipments have crossed the 1m mark by the end of December. Astral Chain 2 can make the pieces fit.

The Tencent money might have to be used for specified things instead of a passion project like a port of TW101, so that's how the kickstarter can make sense.

I remain very skeptical myself, but at least this is a rumor where various things can be lined up for a coherent explanation why it could be true.

Of course, If we assume Astral Chain 2 has already been greenlit we can piece everything together. It would make sense given how much the first part sold. Although with Bayonetta 3 on the horizon and with no updates since... well, since the teaser was revealed back in 2017, I'm not sure if Platinum should not only start the production of Astral Chain 2, but begin the developement of a multiplatform TW101 port AND continue developing Babylon's Fall... all while finishing (I hope they are close to the end) Bayonetta 3. I know Platinum is usually handling multiple projects, but it seems a little too much for me.

I believe Astral Chain 2 will happen for sure, but I don't think Nintendo wants to give the job to Platinum until they finish Bayonetta 3... nor Platinum would want to put more work on their shoulders. Also... they (Nintendo) must starting to feel as impatient for results as we are at this point xD

But as I said... we'll see in no time what is going on xD
