Microsoft's Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 almost 2 to 1 in the United States. Even overall the 360 outsold the PS3 all the way until 2013 when the PS4 had launched. The PS3 definitely lost that generation, who cares Sony sold more Blu-ray players in the end (my brother in law picked up a PS3 for use as a bluray player, late in the generation).

Technically Sony sold more PS3 than the Xbox 360, but it is kind of bizarre to call it winning to be behind for 7 years (even with no Xbox 360 sales in Japan and Asia) and then squeak out some sales after the generation has ended (the Last of Us basically).

You forget that many people buy several 360 because of the RROD.

I don't know why some of you are upset, PlayStation is way more liked than Xbox Worldwide. It's not new.
