I could see Sony releasing an exclusive on the PS5, then maybe 1-2 years later, they release the PC version. Then, again, this could just be Sony putting Horizon on PC to get PC players interested in the sequel, which will only be on PS5. Now, if Sony does something foolish like releasing on PC at the exact same time, I think it will hurt PS5 sales. |
Interesting thoughts. I think your first theory is more likely than the second.
And since Death Stranding is coming to PC, and now we learn about Horizon, I think it's fairly possible that Sony is, from this point forward, putting their exclusives on PC after a timed delay (not that DS was Sony's, but it coming to PC indicates that Sony wasn't interested in spending the extra money to keep it exclusive to their hardware).
Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little bit, and it's too early to say anything with any amount of certainty, but it's a possibility.
If what I've outlined does turn out to be true, and given that I've gotten to know you enough to know that you are a Sony man, then I'm a bit surprised that you don't think it's a big deal. Is it even a little deal? If it had to be ranked as positive deal, negative deal, or neutral deal, would you say it's neutral deal?
I guess it's not devastating, but it kinda seems like you're shrugging it off as though Sony putting games on PC doesn't bother you at all. It bothers me. Should it not? Should we not care if console exclusivity is a thing of the past.
I've also considered that maybe projecting this whole thing as though it were not a big deal, even if it was, could be a method of reconciling with our problems. If that's the current meta, then wink twice at the end of your reply so I can be a part of this.
