Considering it is a 3 year old game, it's not that big a deal, IF this turns out to be real. And not just PS Now, but native support. I could see Sony releasing an exclusive on the PS5, then maybe 1-2 years later, they release the PC version. Then, again, this could just be Sony putting Horizon on PC to get PC players interested in the sequel, which will only be on PS5.

Now, if Sony does something foolish like releasing on PC at the exact same time, I think it will hurt PS5 sales.

Not a big deal?

When Nintendo put their IPs on smart devices everybody declared Nintendo's doom.

Sony will do PC day 1 releases if MS starts to take a lead in the Sub wars. The PC-XB-PS porting ecosystem is pretty well established so Sony is likely sitting on plenty of PC versions.

Hate to disappoint some of the vocal Sony fans but this move will mean absolutely zero to the FIFA, CoD and Fortnite crowd who value the simplicity of the console experience. Sony's legacy brand power will see them through for now.

Edit: It's possible that this could just be Sony putting a cat amongst the pigeons to cause a bit of FUD.

Completely different situation, though.  When Nintendo announced it was going to make mobile games, it was in a bad situation.  The Wii U had utterly flopped and the 3DS was doing just ok.  Not really hard to see why people might think they would move towards mobile gaming if the gaming market hadn't taken to the Switch.  But, they did, so Nintendo consoles are going to be around for the foreseeable future, with Nintendo dropping a few games here or there on mobile.

Sony, on the other hand, is moving toward another gen having just come off the massive success of the PS4, now the 2nd best selling home console.  They, just like Nintendo, know they need exclusives to help push that system.  And Sony doesn't care if MS is ahead in the sub wars, unless it is drastically so or if they are doing it by continuing to give away subs for $1.  Sony wants to sell HW and SW, as well as keep full priced subbers around.  Giving their games away for $1 isn't exactly something they are going to be into.

Like I said, this is a 3 year old game.  It's not that big of a deal.  Maybe the time table will move up to 1 year.  Still, if you don't want to wait, you'll have to buy a PS5.  Heck, maybe their games won't do that well on PC, so they won't even bother porting them over.  Only time will tell.
