There are Japanese games that do well in the west, that stuff has Xbox and PC support too. I think some of that stuff will never come to Switch. But games with heavy reliance on Japan could likely be designed with Switch in mind now. That could easily discourage some Playstation sales. Sure could, that is still not my point, it is what the devs said but you don't seem to want to accept because that would mean Sony isn't just hoping. Playstation consoles have been stagnant in Japan, but software sales improved? Talk about moving the goal post. Developers sell SW so when they say the scene was revived is because they are selling more. How is that moving the goal post? Persona 5 certainly has narrative driven focus like Sony games recently. However, Persona 5 is designed to appeal to Japan and weebs. Has a more traditional JRPG combat system. Sony makes games with wider western appeal. Still Persona 5 made a lot of success on the west. But seems like that for at least P5 you accept it isn't in the same genre while putting all Sony games as if they were the same stuff right? You feel Sony relying on 3rd parties in Japan is just as good as any support. Our views are different but that's fine. I agree some games are exclusive because Sony is willing to fund them. They also allow many of those games on PC because they don't see it as a direct competitor. So you want to do just a partial acceptance? Several games, most of them actually, Sony didn't had to put a single dime to have it only on Playstation. But if they don't pay it is hoping for the best? But if you say they are paying for some them they wouldn't be hoping for the best? What is it? |
