I'm still thinking the most likely candidates are White Owls/Grounding Inc, they would be similar to Obsidian/InXile as well in that both studios are very good friends with each other so they could both be convinced to sell if one is, I don't think it's a coincidence that Obsidian/InXile came at the exact same time.

Though I'm also thinking they might buy a studio outside of Japan but still somewhere in Asia.

Platinum Games was always a long shot as they have a close relationship with Nintendo and not Microsoft. I'd personally like them to acquire Team Ninja from Koei Tecmo, only because I'd love a new Ninja Gaiden. 

Team Ninja is even more impossible than Platinum or From Soft, Ni-Oh was very successful KT wouldn’t even consider selling their best dev.
