Trump called the Prime Minister of Iraq asking him to play a mediator role between the US and Iran. Soleimani was the Iranian official who was supposed to meet the Iraqi PM that day. Trump and the administration not only killed Soleimani but they set him up and used a potential brokered deal in Iraq to do it. |
I think that's why the Iraqi PM is angry, he was going to talk about deescalation in that region with Soleimani.
