Tom & Jerry (1940s/50s only)

Is there a diffrence?

For me, yes.

In my opinion the T&J cartoons of the 40s/50s are the best cartoons ever created (Hanna-Barbera era, 1940-58).

The T&J cartoons of the 60s were horrible (Gene Deitch era, 1960-62) and mediocre (Chuck Jones era, 1963-67) in comparison.

What you don't like Chuck Jones?, he is a genius!!! The only person that can match him is Tex Avery, and he passes Chuck.

I just said his cartoons were mediocre in comparison to Hanna-Barbera's. This doesn't mean I don't like him or his cartoons, I just think Hanna-Barbera's T&J cartoons are unrivaled until today. As for Tex Avery: It was a different approach, but I never liked his cartoons that much.

I think Classic Merrie Melodies were better than Pre Jones Tom & Jerry.  Not to say Tom & Jerry isn't good, just for me Looney Toons and Merrie Melodies will always take the carrot over Hanna Barbera.
