I wouldn't mind if they weren't the PS3/PS4 route with a lithium battery. Oh definitely, the XBO controller battery life is atrocious. I get through a pair of AA's in about 8 hours, whereas the Steam Controller I just got has been running on a pair of AA's for 30+ hours so far and is showing no signs of stopping.
It's not the lack of the rechargeable batteries that's really the problem for me, it's the battery life. Both the XBO and PS4 controllers have such terrible Battery Life while the Steam Controller is absolutely insane.
