They already said consoles sales are useless , and Satya Nadella said consoles sales wont get 1 billion unit. So they are trying with subscription based model like netflix. Sony already has 100 million buyer waiting to buy PS5, while Microsoft do not, they are still do trial and error and want to try new market (blue ocean market) . Game pass is indeed their product. Service is the product, and ecosystem and subs is their main selling point.
