I can't speak for AI (although I wish I could, given it's far overdue), but physics should see quite the increase next gen.

Well, I'm hoping for that, though I doubt (given how slow progress was in last two generations) that without paradigm shift in how 3D worlds are being made (polygons vs something like voxels) there will be significant strides made.
