Blizzard's autobattler Hearthstone Battlegrounds now has a quartet of new heroes for players to choose from, each with their own unique hero power, courtesy of a new update that went live today. The patch also makes a handful of balance changes and bug fixes, adjusts the points allocations for wins, and provides a preview of more changes planned for next month.

The Game Awards is an annual Geoff Keighley-produced event during which the videogame industry and its many fans get together to watch trailers, snark about sponsorships, and yes, hand out a few trophies in various "best of" categories. 107 different games were nominated in those categories for the 2019 show, led by Death Stranding with eight, and Control with seven.

Rust is getting its first paid DLC: musical instruments

Rust is getting some more new stuff next month, and for the first time ever you'll have to pay something extra for it. The first premium DLC for Rust will feature playable musical instruments, 10 of them in all, including a piano, drums, sousaphone (pictured above), and yes, even a cowbell.

EverQuest and Pantheon developer Brad McQuaid has died

Brad McQuaid, best known as a formative hand in the creation of EverQuest, has died aged 51. McQuaid's death was reported by the official Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Twitter account, which is the MMO he was working on until his death.
