Average went up, as expected. Critics continue to give pokemon a free pass, just cuz. In some of those reviews I see a 100, 94, 92, and 91. Tell me with a straight face that this game deserves that.

Yeah, but there's also review scores of 55 and 60. These ultra low review scores drag the average down harder than the scores of 100 or 90 bring it up. It takes two or three scores of 90-100 to counter one score of 55 or 60.

For example...

Let's say you have a game with three reviews. One is 100, one is 90, and one is 55. Well, that game's average review score comes out to 81.66/100. Even though there's two really good reviews, and one really bad review the score isn't that high. Now what happens when we add another score of 90? Well the average score goes up to 83.75/100. What if we add another score of 60 instead of that 90? Well now the average score is 75.6. Notice how adding another low score tanked the average? But adding another high score did not send the score skyrocketing upward? This just goes to show that a handful of really low review scores can tank the average.

Anyway as a whole, the critic consensus is pretty reasonable. As a whole they didn't give the game a free pass, and they didn't buy into the hate bandwagon either.
