Not really that odd actually. I've heard about Chinese censorship for a while now but most people didn't care about the censorship of skeletons or whatever silly crap the Chinese gov. decided to censor. Censoring someone on an on-going protest for human rights is obviously going to create a lot more of buzz and support worldwide.
