Boycotting games isn't going to hurt Blizzard, its going to hurt the gamers more as Blizzard wont think the lack of sales is due to this event because they are most likely going to continue to make more money in China alone than the rest of the world. Blizzard will act like any other major corporation and sack and rehire staff or simply go the way we don't want and focus on methods we don't want. Currently Blizzard house some of the best video game talent in the industry and we want to see the best work on our favourite IPs. Why hurt there jobs? its not the employee's fault that a few Activision Blizzard members acted this way. We should be calling for the head of those decision makers and harassing the company as a whole.. by what is currently happening by protesting at there HQ, Emailing, Streaming and any other popular methods to get there attention. Blizzard make too much money to care if they lose a few million gamers if they know they will make more money staying relevant in China. |
Yes I just said Blizzard must know the backlash won't outweigh communist slave money, but they'll still feel some losses, that's better than no punishment at all. Blizzard won't give a damn what people who are still buying their games say. Email's and streams alone have no chance at getting them to correct their mistakes and don't hurt them in the slightest. They'll just see the money still pouring in like normal as confirmation that they're making the right decisions. From a personal standpoint, most people would see the hypocrisy of denouncing Blizzard yet still buying their games and wont feel good about not putting their money where their mouth is. Those who associate company decisions with their products obviously wouldn't be happy either buying products they can no longer enjoy.
It's simply unreasonable to expect people to not do the simplest easiest and most effective method especially when all other methods have no weight without it. If Blizzard fucks up again by misinterpreting the data, then so be it, humanity can survive without their games.
