I get what you're saying, and it's obviously a lot more complex than simply "I do" or "I don't" mind the look of it. Because while you may personally not mind what a console looks like, or at the very least you might not think you do, there is a chance that investors mind, and if the investors first impression of the product is that it doesn't look nice, that (or any number of countless other factors) could lead to you making that purchase, directly or indirectly.
But much like the boomerang controller design, I think this will be changed with the amount of negative reception it's getting.
