So now you've lost your core audience. The people that brought you to the level you're at in the first place. Terrific - so you essentially HAVE to rely on the Chinese to keep your brand afloat. A market that resides in a communist regime (which means the government can manipulate the market as it sees fit), and a market which is largely untested compared to the West.. Smart move, Blizzard!

If you think this is going to have a notable impact on Blizzards sales of new games, you're wrong. This will blow over and people will forget about it and move on.

Boycotts don't work. Why? Because people don't follow through, especially when it comes to gaming. How many of these Blizzard fans are really not going to pick up Diablo 4? Overwatch 2? the next WoW expansion?

How much less is Diablo 4 going to sell? Tens of Thousands? Thousands? Barely a blip. Boycotts don't work because people don't believe they make a difference and ultimately when it comes down to it, they want the product they know they love more then they want to deprive Blizzard of $60 for doing something they disagree with.

This Boycott won't affect their bottom line because people are going to be vocal about supporting it online, but then buy and play it anyway. Because they love the games.

I'd be interested to see if there is any history of a Video Game Boycott causing substantial damage. Borderlands 3 boycotts sure did a lot didn't they?
