Fortunately, it's managed to rescue arguably its best game, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint servers are back (Updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/ghost-recon-breakpoint-is-out-today-but-the-servers-are-down/
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is out today, but unfortunately you may not be able to play it right now. Users trying to connect to the game are experiencing a few different errors, including SILENT-50001 and SILENT-10000B, neither of which are terribly informative in terms of what's actually gone wrong but both of which end up in the same place: The servers are not available at this time.
Update: Ubisoft now says that the issues have been corrected, and players should have access to the game. We'll update again if further problems arise.

Mr. X is your friend in the Monster Hunter: World - Resident Evil crossover
https://www.pcgamer.com/mr-x-is-your-friend-in-the-monster-hunter-world-resident-evil-crossover/
Capcom has a long and rich history of plopping characters into games that they really have no business being in. There's a Chocobo mount in Assassin's Creed: Origins for some reason, and Geralt has done a turn in Monster Hunter: World, and it gets pretty weird sometimes because there's generally no effort made to blend them in. I suppose it's a bit like Agent 47 in a flamingo suit—the incongruity is part of the fun.
That weirdness is going to kick up again in November, when Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from the Resident Evil series turn up in a Monster Hunter: World Iceborne crossover. And they've brought a friend who is traditionally not a friend.

Rainbow Six Siege devs have discussed a dual-wielding operator and a K-9 unit
https://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-devs-have-considered-both-dual-wielding-operator-and-k-9-unit/
Ubisoft doesn't seem to be running low on concepts for new Rainbow Six Siege operators: of the latest two added in Operation Ember Rise, one carries a deployable shield hiding an explosive charge and the other slings a grappling hook. But the dev team have far more left-field ideas including both a canine unit and a dual-wielding operator that requires an "entirely new way to play the game", according to Ubisoft Montreal presentation director Alexander Karpazis.

Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare is part FPS, part Mount & Blade, and out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/freeman-guerrilla-warfare-is-part-fps-part-mount-and-blade-and-out-now/
Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare was "extremely Mount & Bladey" when Chris tried it out in 2018, and it doesn't sound like that's changed during its stint in Early Access. It came out for good yesterday, and it remains a blend of first-person shooting and overhead strategy, with a healthy pinch of faction management mixed in.

https://www.pcgamer.com/bully-2-was-started-but-never-finished-according-to-source/
Easter eggs and references to Bully found in Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have fans of Rockstar's open-school game Bully convinced there's a sequel secretly in the works. According to sources quoted by VGC, a sequel was being worked on several years ago, and a playable slice of it existed, though production ultimately went nowhere.

Epic addresses Fortnite matchmaking concerns, warns that smurfing will get you banned
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-addresses-fortnite-matchmaking-concerns-warns-that-smurfing-will-get-you-banned/
Epic announced a couple of weeks ago that changes were being made to Fortnite's matchmaking system. Beginning in the 10.40 patch, the change was aimed at matching up players of similar skills, regardless of platform, and meant that players "will be more likely to match with players of similar skill." Some people, such as in this Reddit thread, expressed fears that the changes could actually result in more unfair matchups, though, especially since Epic didn't say anything about how the system would actually work.

Everspace 2 developer commits to no Epic exclusives
https://www.pcgamer.com/everspace-2-developer-commits-to-no-epic-exclusives/
Everspace 2 developer Rockfish Games is emphatically not a big fan of Epic Games Store exclusivity, taking the opportunity to drag developers and publishers over "broken promises" in a Kickstarter update. Not surprisingly, Everspace 2 won't be an Epic exclusive—it's launching on Steam first.

https://www.pcgamer.com/surviving-mars-is-getting-a-post-apocalyptic-sequel/
Surviving Mars, Paradox and Haemimont Games' martian colony builder, has spawned a series, and its first follow-up will be appearing next year. We've only got a name so far, Surviving the Aftermath, along with the brief teaser above, but a post-apocalyptic management game seems like a pretty safe bet.
