Off the top of my head, crossplay with PC is nothing new. Dreamcast had it with Quake 3. Xbox 360 had it with Shadowgate. PS3 had it with Final Fantasy Something.
I'm just glad to see it finally happening between consoles and hopefully the floodgates will open for the feature between Sony and Microsoft.
