Friday news, part two:

WoW Classic's next phase will launch later this year
https://www.pcgamer.com/wow-classics-next-phase-will-launch-later-this-year/
World of Warcraft Classic has been out for just over a month, and in that time many of its most hardcore players have hit level 60 and cleared Molten Core and Onyxia, the two endgame raids. Since well before launch Blizzard has said that Classic's new dungeons, raids, and PVP features would be released in six main phases, but until now hasn't indicated when those updates will arrive. In an interview with game director Ion Hazzikostas, which will appear in full on the site early next week, I got a partial answer on when to expect phase 2: This year.

Randy Pitchford and Gearbox's former top lawyer have settled their lawsuits

The acrimonious legal dispute between Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford and former Gearbox general counsel Wade Callender has been settled. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the settlement comes roughly a month after Callender filed a motion for contempt and requested that Gearbox face sanctions for "discovery abuse" for failing to produce court-ordered documents. The judge in the matter found the filing "sufficient" to order a hearing, scheduled for September 25, "to determine whether Gearbox Software LLC should be held in contempt and sanctioned for failure to comply."

But as you struggle to escape, you'll of course discover that things are not quite as they seem.

Hardcore RPG Outward gets a big content update, becomes more 'hardcore'
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardcore-rpg-outward-gets-a-big-content-update-becomes-more-hardcore/
Outward is one of the most intriguing RPGs of the year. As Chris wrote in his review, it offers a realistic take on adventuring that few other fantasy RPGs dare dabble in – even if it's a bit rough around the edges. With the arrival of a major content patch adding new bosses, a new mode and a bunch of fixes, there's a reason to return to it.

Deftly dodge deadly hazards in free action game Deff
https://www.pcgamer.com/deftly-dodge-deadly-hazards-in-free-action-game-deff/
In skillful action game Deff, you are Death. Or at least, a death, as there are apparently loads of them. But let's not get bogged down in the backstory. In this side-on action-puzzler you play as a death-bringing wheelchair user, who dashes about the place from one gleaming node disc to another. You can't jump of your own accord, see (even in this demo, which slightly confusingly takes place before Death ends up in a wheelchair), so to leap up, or across the screen, basically to warp from disc to disc, you have to aim with the mouse and click on the golden discs. Which is simple enough.
