If you enjoy playing the key market in Rocket League, your days as a used car dealer may be coming to a close. As previously announced, Psyonix and its new owner Epic Games will be ending the key and crate system that has been the primary loot distribution method for some time. Today, they've announced what will replace it come December.

The Elsweyr expansion to The Elder Scrolls Online finally brought dragons to the MMO world of Tamriel. Their flying, fire-spitting presence is bad news for the cat-like Khajiit who live in Elsweyr, but beginning on October 3 it'll be good for the actual, real-life cats (and other fur-bearing creatures) who live among us.

Broken Roads is a philosophical CRPG set in a post-disaster Australian outback

Australia does dry wastelands well: Think Mad Max, Wake in Fright, Razorback. You can probably add Broken Roads to that list, a forthcoming CRPG focused on post-apocalyptic exploration and "meaningful philosophical choices." It's developed by Australian studio Drop Bear Bytes, made up of former devs from CCP Games, Riot and Ubisoft, among others. Oh, and the gorgeous hand drawn art is the work of Mighty Vertex, the art studio behind Shadowrun Returns.

Destiny 2 is live on Steam today, and is unpacking on my PC as we (figuratively) speak. That's going to take awhile, though (it's been bouncing between 1-2 hours for about 20 minutes now), and since I'm pretty sure I can't be the only one in that boat, this seems like a fine time to check out the full patch notes for the 2.6.0.1 update that also rolled out today.

Bungie is 'restoring services' to Destiny 2, but some issues may persist

Bungie just announced on Twitter that Destiny and Destiny 2 have been taken offline for "emergency maintenance." There's no word on what exactly the issue is but the studio said previously that it was investigating problems that were preventing players from logging in. Some of our in-house Guardians have also been experiencing issues with being given unexpected heave-hos from the game.
Update (8 pm ET, Oct 1): Bungie reported on Twitter that it is "making progress in restoring services to Destiny 1 and Destiny 2," but warned that some players may still experience issues while signing into the game. Further updates will be posted as they become available.
Update 2: (9 pm ET, Oct 1): The emergency maintenance is complete, although there may still be queues for awhile yet.

Fallout Legacy Collection is coming later this month, according to Amazon

Judging by a listing on Amazon Germany, a collection of every Fallout game ever made – except Fallout 76 – will release on October 25. That's a lot of game: it includes Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4, in addition to all associated DLC. That's a lot of instances of 'fallout' in a sentence.

Have fun with lasers in free sci-fi puzzler Relay

The good thing about being a robot (in free sci-fi puzzle game Relay, at least) is being able to switch bodies at the drop of a hat. Or if not by hat-dropping, then by aiming an infra-red laser, and hopping into any skittering robot that it hits. So it goes in this stylish and charming puzzler, starring perhaps the cutest robots since Red Dwarf's Skutters.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey launched a year ago this week, and since then players have killed more than 20 billion enemies and taken 48 million photos, according to Ubisoft's stats. Well done! To celebrate the anniversary, there's a new schedule for epic encounters and Ubisoft is planning one more title update.
