thats not legal but Bleemcast didn't use PS1s bios. It was pure software emulation. Why Sony was against this I will never understand...like yes it's embarrassing that a piece of software is running your games better than the two systems they are meant to be played on....but at the same time, as Sony makes almost all their money on software. And to play this you had to buy the original game... |
i did some reasarch, and yes, bleemcast didnt use the ps1's bios. my mistake, i appologize for the sudden harsh attacks. i tend to be very emotinal when it comes to piracy as this is the reason why sony and microsoft have not officially launched the ps3 and x360 here. if our ps3s and or x360s suddenly suffer any hardware problems, rrod, bdl failure, etc etc, we're stuck with a huge expensive pice of crap as there is no offical support here. we have to settle on thirdparty repairs who often use cheap crap to repair our systems.
as for why sony was against this, sony during that time was also pushing the dvd format which is why they incorporated a dvd player into the ps2. the 2 things which the ps2 had over the dc is the dvd player and the ps1 liblary. with the bleemcast, it effectively cancels out one of its key features. and seeing as the dreamcast was cheaper, it could have contended with the ps2.
