No. If anything, I would replace my old Switch with the newer model with more battery life. But the Lite is not for me. I mean... it is, but not enough.
I spend a lot of time on the train, so portable gaming is important to me. And a smaller Switch is something I would gladly have. However... is not good enough. It is still too big. I have to carry a bag for my Switch and would still have to carry one for the Lite. So... the situation would be the same. Also, while it has better battery life than the original, it's still behind the newer base model, which almost doubles the original. And... you lose the ability to play on the TV. Which, while is not my main gaming mode, is something I definetly like to use from time to time.

Yes, it's 100 dolar cheaper. But in the end, as an exclusively portable device, it doesn't offer enough improved portability features compared to the base Switch. And it has worse battery life, it loses docked mode and it loses the Joy-Con. So... unless you really want a D-Pad... or you have a child and you want something more durable... I would just buy a normal newer Switch.
