anti discrimination laws

https://www.google.com/search?q=trans+laws+new+york&oq=trans+laws+new+york&aqs=chrome..69i57.2997j0j0&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

do you think a fat man should be able to identify as a thin muscular man btw? and have that perception forced on other people?

So the laws that deal with "Discrimination protections in credit, housing, employment, education, and public accommodation have explicitly included sexual orientation since 2003 and gender identity or expression since 2019" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_New_York

You take issue with the ruling that employers and landlords can't discriminate against people for being trans?

I think he should be able to go to work or pay his rent without being harassed for being fat, yes. If that's the perception that's being forced on others I'm totally happy with it.

"ou take issue with the ruling that employers and landlords can't discriminate against people for being trans?

discrimination is an inherent part of hiring

employers look through the lists of applicants they have and decide on those applicants they believe to be most appropriate for a position

appropriate meaning qualifications primarily but also with regards to how well they'll fit in a particular work place, if they'll be able to carry out their duties appropriately etc etc etc

I expect that in some respects trans people might not be a good fit for certain positions so they may be discriminated against

an example I can think of is modeling where models have a particular body type because they are expected to demonstrate how clothes will fit or another is intimate self care with women where they may get waxing done for example and may be more comfortable having other women do certain procedures

there is sexist discrimination within these examples and many others already, but what happens when someone simply declares that reality doesn't apply to them?

as for landlords, discrimination also exists obviously because no one wants a tenant that's going to give them issues, this isn't exclusive to trans people obviously

"I think he should be able to go to work or pay his rent without being harassed for being fat"

discrimination != harassment

every single person discriminates many many times in one day, its just that "woke" people pretend otherwise because of course everyone is equal
