Heh, I can see it now.. Going by these fears some people have.

+ Excellent combat
+ Amazing OST
- Game is too massive
- Too much story for a Final Fantasy game.
IGN = 5/10

That is a gross (and probably intentional) miss characterisation.

Games with silly side quests that offer no impact (especially fetch quests) are a negative.  Same with collect-a-thon aspects in gaming that have no impact.  Size isn't a problem, artificially forcing a game to be longer/bigger than it actually is would be a problem.

Too much story can be a problem.  Constantly having gameplay (actually controlling the Cloud) severed every 2 minutes to watch/listen would be a bad thing.  Girlfriend Review of KH3 is a great explanation of how too much story can be a negative.

If we want to be silly, I can follow suit:

-Artificially big

-Forced and unnecessary story elements

-Greedy episode releases

+Cloud

12/10!!!!  Best game ever, because reasons.

To be honest, this fear doom and gloom thing I'm seeing here is silly, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you do not know of all the cut content they made while making the original. Ex. Detective Joe, the explanation of Summoning Mataria etc.

Now any thinking man, or woman knows there is 8 Midgar sectors, of which we've only seen a fraction of sector 1 (the opening bombing mission), and the sector 5 slum and Wall Market. Now I don't know about you but I as sure as hell want to check out the other plates and slums, and have more character development for Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge. At least I know pretty much everyone that worked on the original game is working on the Remake.
