Level-5 and Platinum Games would be great acquisitions for Nintendo if they ever seek to buy studios. However, I am pleased with how things are going at the moment between these two companies working with Nintendo on the Switch. Platinum Games has Astral Chain coming in a few days and Bayonetta 3 in the future, both exclusives to the Switch. While Level-5 has mostly done ports at the moment, Yokai Watch 4 and a few other games like Inazume Eleven Ares are nice original titles (granted, most of them are Japan-only at the moment, with only YW4 being scheduled for a Western release).
Nintendo just doesn't seem like one to just buy out studios for one reason or another. I think that's fine, considering that they're still publishing so many damn titles every year so they're not short of releasing content.
