I was born with #2 and will remain #2 probably for the rest of my life. I don't agree with the receding hairline thing. I've always had this hairline, and so does most of my family. My grandfathers both had their hair into their 90s when they died. My father is in his 60s with the same hairline. I had #2 as a child. This is just an alternative style of hair to #1 imo as I've seen people outside my family also have this hairline as a child.
