May be because in Brazil I had never heard anyone saying it, and the first time I heard was here on VGC during 7 gen. Because of the technological delay on the country until the last 10 years or so, consoles were almost always much better for gaming than what you would find in PC here.

Like when I was child I would have a 386 (best PCs I had heard at the time was a 486DXII66, and a dedicated graphic card was something I heard like 15 years ago at most) running games like Prince of Persia if I had luck, while at the same time my Genesis would be doing Sonic.

Very different experience from what you probably had over there.
