It's a bit hard to say. Devil May Cry 5 was amazing and represented a lot of what's to love about gaming. Mario Maker 2 though really took me by surprise, and showed me that I do in fact like 2D Mario. It's even shocking how fun it is to create levels, I find it can be hard to enjoy titles based around user creation when you don't know how to create good content. But Mario Maker makes it very easy and fun. Fire Emblem is still a work in progress. It has a lot of great mechanics, and the battles are always a high point, but the characters seem kind of consistently meh, the story 25 hours in still hasn't really gotten good, and the monastery is a bit of a mixed bag.

Remake 2 and Cadence of Hyrule are still titles I need to pick up, and Sekiro is something I'd like to beat before the end of the year ... even if I'm not looking forward to it. Overall, I'd go with DMC5 so far, with Mario Maker 2 being a close second.

But I think we all know what the true GOTY will be ...
