| Barkley said: TBH, as long as it doesn't affect the pricing afterwards this wouldn't necessarily be a bad trend imo. Because it forces the game to be reasonable, and a good game, without micro-transactions at launch. Prices for Skins/Karts/Decals in CTR and coins earned for races is already established, so it would be difficult for them to try and raise the prices to push people to buy coins and if they did so there would be a backlash, backed by evidence. So MTX being added at a later date may actually be good for the game because they're forced to make the game enjoyable without it. |
I disagree. I'm not a fan of this tactic and I don't at all like the "as long as" pov, because that's primarily what allows these things to spread. I want the root cause cut off and no nurturing of it either. Just make the game as is, ship it and give out the content, be it paid or free, but don't try to solidify MT's being at home, because they weren't at home to begin with in the old days.
I've already caught wind of how they nerfed coin gains, in order to create a problem, to then make the MT's more appealing. Wolf YoungBlood does this, and they patched out the cheat engine, thus showing that they 100% want you to buy into those gold bars, or suffer a tedious grind.
You have to look at it from how we used to game, as back then, we didn't have to do insane tedious grinds, because we had shortcuts, cheats, pickups and the like. Now we have to pay for those, or just not have any at all. You also have to realize that, just because it's not a grind for you, or it's easy for you to gain X amount of resources, to bypass paying, doesn't mean it's objectively the same for everyone else. If you want to play a patience game, then force your patience as a rule over everyone else, (should never do that for a start) then you're only going to come off as pompous and arrogant.
Not sure how adding MT;'s objectively makes a game superior, than it does without them. Warped logic to me, because if that's how it's factually to run, then all games should be crammed to the brim with MT's, past and present, as well as future.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
