SOFTWARE & DRIVERS

AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.7.4 available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/amd-radeon-software-adrenalin-2019-edition-19-7-4-available-for-download/
AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.7.4 driver fixes an application crash or hang in Grand Theft Auto 5 on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products.
Unfortunately, that’s the only issue that has been addressed in this new driver. As such, and for those that are not playing GTA 5, there is no reason at all to upgrade your drivers to this latest version.

AMD wants Destiny 2 players to help test a beta chipset driver for third-gen Ryzen
https://www.pcgamer.com/amd-wants-destiny-2-players-to-help-test-a-beta-chipset-driver-for-third-gen-ryzen/
It has taken a few weeks, but AMD is starting to roll out an updated chipset driver that is supposed to address an issue preventing Destiny 2 from running on third-generation Ryzen setups.
The caveat is that this "workaround driver" is a beta release. AMD put out a call to users on Reddit to test it out, noting that seeing an "installer warning or two" is normal if upgrading from an existing driver.

MODS/EMULATORS

Manhunt Remaster is now available on the PC thanks to this overhaul mod
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/manhunt-remaster-is-now-available-on-the-pc-thanks-to-this-overhaul-mod/
Manhunt fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘Danoman’ has released a new version of his Blood Moon mod for Manhunt. This mod basically aims to provide a remastered version of Manhunt by enhancing all textures (resampled orginals 2x), all effects (like particles blood splatters or bullet holes), modifying the AI (more agressive and can see you from a mile) and changing gunplay (guns have proper names and can shoot far away like in reality – shootouts are real fun now).
Blood Moon Manhunt also changes damage input and output for every firearm or melee weapon (you give as much damage as you recive from foes), changes the main menu a little to better fit whole snuff theme (and “Kill the Rabbit” is now properly named “Pool of Tears”), and makes it possible so that every scene can have its own self made loading picture.

Daggerfall Unity remasters the classic Elder Scrolls
https://www.pcgamer.com/daggerfall-unity-remasters-the-classic-elder-scrolls/
Since 2014, Gavin Clayton has been remaking The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall in Unity, making the incredibly ambitious RPG a bit more palatable—and moddable—for modern sensibilities. It's more of a remaster than something like Skywind or Skyblivion, however, with Clayton preserving the original but with high-resolution textures, mouse-look and, perhaps most importantly, bug fixes. There were a lot of them.
Over the weekend, Clayton announced that Daggerfall Unity's alpha release was imminent (cheers, Reddit), with the last bits of the v0.9 roadmap almost finished. On the roadmap itself, he adds that he's focusing on bug fixes and overall polishing, while mod and translation support will continue to be developed until it hits 1.0.
>> You'll need the original game in order to play it (you can grab it for free from Bethesda, for example).

This Skyrim mod adds an 'immersive' Bethesda.net login requirement
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-skyrim-mod-adds-an-immersive-bethesdanet-login-requirement/
During QuakeCon, the original Doom trilogy was released on consoles and mobile. It was a nice surprise, except for the the additional surprise of an online requirement in strictly singleplayer ports. Players needed to make a Bethesda.net account and log in to play, hopefully avoiding connection errors. Clearly this is a feature other Bethesda games need. One modder agrees and has added it to Skyrim.
The Immersive Bethesda.net Experience will ruin your game by trying—and failing—to connect to Bethesda.net. The exciting moment has been captured in the video above. It will never succeed and after five attempts will kick you back to the main menu.
>> Sounds like fun... If you're bored and want to try it (why would you?!) here are the links for the vanilla and Special Edition versions of the mod.
