I entered to discover what was the cause, but saying I don't know a person isn't disrespectful at all. Your answer otherwise is quite disrespectful.

Whether intended or not, it comes off as incredibly disrespectful.  So, maybe instead of being defensive, reflect a bit so you won't make such mistakes in the future.
