Yea the media did spin some things way too much. They attached themselves to any click bait which only benefited Trump. However he has done worse than almost any candidate can possibly do and yet his fan base stays with him no matter what. I haven't seen such fanatical support since a politician named Hitler. You can't group all media into one group just like I shouldn't group all Republicans into a group. Problem is politics have become so dividing that two sides can't even tolerate each other. I have die hard Trump supporter for neighbor and we hardly agree on anything policy wise. Yet somehow we are still friends because when you remove politics we get along quite well.
